Love insight by Bob Marley

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there."

"Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution."

Just one?

There's been a lot of divorce going on in the media recently, and it has made me do a lot of thinking about relationships and the struggles that come with them. I have also currently been reading "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus," so that too has been stirring up thoughts in my brain about the relationships between men and women.

I was talking to a co-worker the other day about relationships: the good, the bad, and the inevitable. We began discussing the theory that maybe human beings just aren't meant to mate for life. That maybe we need to respect that we are animals, and have animal-like urges, and that making us commit to ONE person is like locking us in a cage.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not insisting that this is in fact the truth; but merely an interesting topic to debate upon. It just seems that no matter how much you love someone, there will always come days when you kind-of want to smash their face in. (Too much?) Or simply days where every single thing they say aggravates every little nerve in your body. Now why is that?

They say that true happiness comes from within yourself. No matter what is going on around you. No matter if you are a millionaire or struggling to make ends meet. No matter if you are in a relationship, or alone. So going off that theory, wouldn't having another person around all the time make it more difficult to reach deep down inside of yourself and find that place of peace and serenity?

I will get personal with you, this is something I have been struggling with. I love my boyfriend very much, but I find myself thinking more about HIM and US then I do about ME. Sure, that may sound selfish, but I fully believe that we must make ourselves happy before we can expect to make anyone else happy. Therefore, it's best to think about your very own needs first.

"Do not rely completely on any other human being, however dear. We meet all life's greatest tests alone." ~Agnes Macphail

I had this revelation when I was in meditation group a few weeks ago and I COULD NOT clear my mind of my relationship. Good, bad, indifferent, I couldn't stop myself from swimming in thoughts about it. I know this is normal. I believe that, no matter what they say, everyone reaches points in their relationship where they question whether or not they are with the right person.

I can say from personal experience that I have loved dating all the people I have dated, as I have learned so much from each and every one of them. Each time I'm in a relationship with a new person it teaches me more about myself. BUT, I never feel more like my true genuine self, then when I'm alone.

So then the question remains: ARE human beings meant to find only one other human being to spend their ENTIRE lives with?! Or is that like asking someone to choose only ONE meal for the rest of their life... Or only ONE movie to watch forever... Or only ONE CD to listen too...? If variety is the spice of life, shouldn't that be true with relationships as well?

HALLOWEEN 2011

This was my very first year to get to plan a couples costume! The possibilities are large, but when I came up with this idea, there was nothing to compare.
Meet:

Dexter and Victim

Amazeballs right?!?!
I know. I know.

As a side note, I would like to just let everyone know that wearing a dress made out of plastic wrap is NOT the most comfortable thing in the world (going to the bathroom proved to be quite the challenge); however, it was NOT the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn. Also, not as figure flattering as one would hope. I had about an inch of wrapping on, so I felt very constricted and cocooned the whole night, but have no worries, it didn't stop me from getting my boogie on!

Good ol' Halloween. The best holiday EVER!!! (next to my birthday, hehe) I freaking love costume parties! I have always enjoyed dressing up... but I guess most girls do. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a very epic Halloween. Now time for me to go get ready for the rest of the haunted activities going on tonight. Starting with some "spirits!" ;)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

A butterfly's lesson

I'm always trying to help what appears to be struggling bugs. Vic is always telling me not to interfere with nature. Everything happens for a reason.

BIG Trouble in Little China

"Everybody relax, I'm here."

"Well, ya see, I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything, but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on here, and a man would have to be some kind of FOOL to think we're alone in THIS universe." --Jack Burton

Big Trouble in Little China is a movie that most of us have seen at least once in our lives. But my guess is you probably watched it when you were younger and haven't taken the chance to watch it again. I implore you, watch it. It has a much deeper meaning then the movie let's on.
Plus, it is full of witty dialog and crazy action!

Radical movie.

October, already?!?

TRICK OR TREAT!...?

What the?! How the?! When the?! Where the?!....
It's October already?! Holy Crow! Where'd the summer go!? I can't believe I have now officially lived in my new house for 2 months! That's craziness. Time truly does move faster and faster every year. You heard your parents and grandparents say it growing up, but you didn't believe them, just like you didn't believe it when they said "you'll understand when you're older." And here we are, or here I am. Older, and slowly learning that everything adults said to us when we were younger is true. Well, almost everything... let's not give all our elders THAT much credit. ;P

So updates: I am now working at Studio Nine Salon and Spa, located on 926 East 900 South. I love it there. I'll admit, it's unfortunate they don't have a FULL spa... (there aren't any locker rooms, with showers, sauna's, and steamrooms,) BUT there is a nice peaceful room where I can do what I do best, and that is all that really matters. Plus, I am making a better commission rate, and I am finally working for someone who CARES about their place of business, AND for their employees.

Also, I LOVE the 9th and 9th area. I have gotten to spend plenty of time checking out all the shops around there which is something I have always wanted to do, but never took the time to. So hanging out around there, and being in this new house in a new area, kinda makes it feel like I actually did move somewhere new!
(Until I hear news such as Brewvies getting ticketed for showing a movie w/ nudity in it, and then I am quickly reminded I still live in Salt Lake Shitty. Argh.)

There is ONE great thing about Salt Lake City/Utah however,....... the mountains of course! And with fall upon us, the leaves are as gorgeously changing as ever. If you haven't gotten up there to check them out, DO IT!
Vic and I hiked Lake Blanche last weekend. It was glorious!

Lakes Lillian and Florence:

The awe-inspiring colors looked as if they would glow in the dark!:

Also, with October brings.... HALLOWEEN!!! (Which also just so happens to be Vic's birthday) As per usual, I have spent all year trying to come up with a great halloween costume, and have yet to land on a solid plan. Therefore, time for serious racking of the brain and creative skillzz!
