Misson/Goal Statement

As an assignment for school I had to write a Mission Statement and a Goal Statement for my future career choice.
When we got the assignment, the writer in me climbed up on her high horse and said, "Oh this will be the EASIEST assignment EVER!" However, I have found that to be quite the contrary. I suppose it's because this really makes you think. I mean, it's so personal, putting on paper the desires that you often just fantasize about in your head.
Also made it tricky that it had to be career oriented, and that I couldn't add things to the list like "marry a millionaire." (even though we all know that's what's going to happen to me. right mom?)

Anyways, I think I have finally gotten them done. Course, knowing me and how much I revise my writings, they could still change. But for fun, I decided to post them here on my blog for y'all to read. Feedback is encouraged.

Mission Statement:

My mission as a licensed massage therapist, is to provide therapeutic massage and bodywork for the enhancement of the health and well-being of my clients. I will provide a relaxing, compassionate, and stress-reducing massage to revitalize their most precious resources for physical, mental, and emotional health. I will provide a safe, calming, and professional environment where they can come and release tensions, relieve pain, and rejuvenate their bodies. My continuing education schedule is the assurance of increased training to offer greater value and new services and techniques to my clients.

Goal Statement:

First and foremost my goal is to pass the comprehensive exam and graduate Myotherapy College. I intend to use my massage therapy license to insist me in my quest to see the world and help fuel my love for traveling. When I decide on a place where I want to settle down, my goal is to find a workplace that suits all my atmospheric requirements to enhance my excellence as massage therapist. I intend to expand long term, client-focused relationships; and to continually improve my techniques and products through involvement in associations and through communications with clients and peers. My overall goal is to achieve a life of peace and serenity working to benefit the health and well-being of the people around me.

MA BIRFFFFDAY Weeeekend!!!

It's almost my birthday.... it's almost my birthday.... it's almost my birthday!!!!!
My FAVORITE holiday of the year!!! (am I selfish or what?!?)
It's the one day of the year where I can do anything I want and I can use my day of birth as an excuse.
It's not even my actual day of birth that I am excited about.... it's the party the night before! I over invited, because, well you know, generally only half the people you invite actually show up. However... it's lookin like it's going to be a full load.
Even better! More people to shake my booty with!

You know, this is the first time in SIX years that I have been home for my birthday! Can you believe it!? For fun, let's go over a list of things I've done for my birthday:

19th: --how sad is this... I can't remember what I did for my 19th birthday... hmmm.. damn memory loss.-- Instead I'll fill this space by mentioning my 15th birthday, in which my mom took me on the Mexican Riviera cruise, where they showed Titanic on the boat (wtf?!) and I got my first kiss! :)

20th: Road trip to Vegas with Mike, Kaitlin, and way to strong 'special' brownies. Getting lost in Caeser's palace. Fear and Loathing. Hilarity ensued.

21st: BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE! Just me and Ariele in her white Honda Civic, started in Vegas for the big 2-1, then off to LA, San Fran, Eureka, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver Canada where Ariele got put on the cover of a magazine. Once again, BEST TRIP EVER!!!!

22nd: Went to Southern Utah and hiked down the biggest face-cliff I've ever hiked into Sundance Canyon (I can't actually remember the name of the canyon and that might be a made up name) where we camped for 3 days, spending one of them on the Colorado river. It was the end of June in the desert and it was 107 degrees. Needless to say, heat-stroke ensued; followed by a massive feeling of accomplishment.

23rd: Took a road trip over to Oregon to see Crater Lake National Park. Drove along the coast of Oregon and camped in the Redwoods. Gorgeous.

24th: I was working up at good ole St. Mary's Resort in Montana, and all my new friends threw a Bonfire/Kegger party for me. Unfortunately the Keg tipped over on the way to the fire pit, so we were really drinking mostly foam and flat beer. But at 6,000 feet elevation, it didn't matter, it got the job done. :)

(Damn, I'm good to myself on my birthday!)

And now we're up to speed. While all those trips were INCREDIBLY fun... I'm actually excited to be home where I can see all of my friends! So hopefully you're coming tomorrow night... I can't wait to boogie down!!!!

UPDATE 7/12/10:

I remembered my missing birthday!!! I went camping up at Lava Hot Springs!! Me, Kaitlin, Greg, and Rob. Rob took his brothers ID and got us a bottle of Jager, we got back to the campsite and starting setting things up when all of a sudden, CRAAAASSSSHHH!!! Someone knocked over the bottle and it shattered. Sweet sweet Jager poured out everywhere. It was the saddest thing ever. Fortuantely we had more liquor AND the whole campsite to ourselves.
GOOD TIMES!
(THANK YOU diary!)

Astounded

I danced my ass off to this song (and many more) this weekend.
I may or may not have had an audience...

Sexiest song ever.

My weekend...

...Was full of surreal moments. Moments where you can't even believe that what is happening really is, but it's so wonderful you don't even dare question it. I had such a good time, while really not doing much at all. I could go on and on and on about the events that took place in that short 72 hour time span. I could dive into an endless rambling of the fun/funny/kinky/crazy things that I did.......but I won't. Cause I can't. Cause my weekend, was a big... fat... juicy... secret.
sssssshhhhhhh....

It's JUNE!!!

Wow... I cannot believe that it's already JUNE!!! The BEST month of the year!!! (my birthday month) I also can't believe I am already in my third term of school!!! This year has just FLOWN by!!!

I got my grades for last term... and not to toot my own horn or anything, but I have to boast... I got a 3.9!!! And the only reason is because I missed two days of one class, so they had to give me an A-. So what?! I am ecstatic!!! I know to some of you "do-gooders" and "over-achievers" out there who always have to get a 4.0 might not think this is all that great... But for a B average student, this is just AWESOME!! It's totally hanging on my fridge right now.

Among my classes this term I am taking Pathology and Nutrition. So if I actually find the time to blog... expect to be seeing blogs about illness, diseases, enzymes, vitamins, diets, etc. I'm really excited for this term, even if I have to write 3-4 papers. (I actually like writing papers)

I don't have much time to add anything else so I'm just gonna throw in a few random thoughts:
  • I went and saw Sex and the City 2 last week....and it was, of course, AMAZING. BUT afterwards I got to thinkin that maybe that show gives girls unrealistic expectations of girlfriends. Do any girls ACTUALLY have this kind of little clique?! And if so, where is mine??
  • Having a guy as a 'best friend' lately, has been pretty damn awesome. And I am so very grateful for him and everything he does for me. THANK YOU GEOFF!!!
  • I have also been so very grateful for my friend Zrinka. She has been my saving grace lately. AND I love that she is a space nerd just like me!! EVERYONE should go to the Clark Planetarium and see "The Ultimate Universe"... it's MIND blowing!
  • Sometimes I feel like there is so much beauty in this world I don't have the capacity to take it all in. Also, sometimes I feel like this world is so detailed and intrique that if I really try to comprehend it, my mind will literally implode.
  • In school we have to write a Mission Statement and and a list of Goals. I asked if I could put 'find a sugar daddy' as a goal...but apparently that needs to go on my 'dream list.'
  • This weekend I have the chance to cross something off my "things I want to do someday" list. And I can't stop smiling about it. :D

God, life is crazy isn't it?!? Hope everyone is feeling as radiant and joyful as they possibly can!!

R.I.P. Rue McClanahan

Rue McClanahan, the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit TV series "The Golden Girls," died this morning. :(
(for more info: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/37490180/ns/today-entertainment/ )

I don't think I need to reiterate my intense LOVE for the Golden Girls, BUT I would like to share this quote by Rue that I read on msnbc.com:

"Golden Girls" aimed to show "that when people mature, they add layers," she told The New York Times in 1985. "They don't turn into other creatures. The truth is we all still have our child, our adolescent, and your young woman living in us."

I don't care who are, or how old you are, The Golden Girls is pure comical GENIUS! I often get crap for liking it... but only from people who have never given it a chance. I have sat people down and forced them to watch it, and they always inevitably say, "okay you're right...it IS funny."

So go watch The Golden Girls in memory of all these
wonderful, amazing, talented, and charming women.

I LOVE YOU LADIES!!!
